Grasmere - From Renovation Rescue to Dream Bathroom
In 2025, we were contacted by a client in dire need of help.
What should have been an exciting time for them, had turned into an incredibly stressful and upsetting experience. The clients had entrusted their bathroom project to another contractor, only to be left with poor workmanship, structural concerns and a partially completed space that fell far short of what they had envisioned.
By the time they approached our team, they weren't simply looking for someone to finish the job, they needed someone to put it right.
Our clients didn't just want a new bathroom. They had put their heart and soul into designing a space that would feel like their own private spa, somewhere to escape, relax and unwind at the end of a long day. After such a difficult start to their project, our priority was to restore their confidence and give them the space they had envisioned from the very beginning. The result is a completely bespoke bathroom, thoughtfully built around our clients' vision and finished to a standard they could finally feel proud of.
Previous building work (Shown here on the right and below) had left them with significant workmanship issues and serious structural concerns. Before we could even begin bringing their design to life, our team had to assess what had been done and rectify the underlying problems.
We had to strip the project back and correct previous work, ensuring we had a safe, sound and properly constructed foundation to work from before moving forward with the new bathroom.
For clients who had already put so much thought, time and heart into creating their dream space, restoring their confidence in the project was every bit as important as the work itself.
With the remedial work complete, we could finally begin creating the bathroom our clients had originally envisioned.
Their design was deliberately different. Rather than a conventional bathroom layout, they wanted the room to have the atmosphere and experience of a spa, which meant finding practical solutions to achieve some of the more unusual elements of their plans without compromising on performance or longevity.
Every stage required careful planning and attention to detail to ensure the finished bathroom didn't just look the way our clients imagined it — it worked exactly as it should too.
The Finished Result
After such a difficult beginning, seeing this project become the space our clients had originally dreamed of made the finished result particularly rewarding for our team.
What began as a project requiring extensive remedial work is now a completely bespoke home spa. Somewhere designed around its owners, their tastes and the way they wanted to use the space.
More than anything, we're proud that we were able to take a project that had become a source of stress and uncertainty and turn it back into something our clients could be excited about.
A bathroom built properly, designed differently and, finally, a space they can simply relax and enjoy.
